We are delighted to have worked closely with the University of Sheffield Management School to produce a suite of newspaper advertising. Despite being a very exciting project, there is always an uncertainty around the quality of reproduction in newspaper print. Not to fear, the clever designers at Vivid made sure everything went smoothly and much to my surprise, I came across the advert in the Guardian Money supplement at a B&B in Robin Hoods Bay whilst recovering from the Coast 2 Coast cycle ride!

Vivid's client Boutinot (based in Manchester) are a renowned wine maker and distributor. Having designed and built their new website - we felt it was only fitting to open a trade account and sample some of the many beautiful wines on offer (over 900 in fact!). In a recent case we were all mesmorised by the design of a particular wine label - made by Some Young Punks in Australia. Imagine our surprise when the design and marketing team from Boutinot sent us limited edition prints of the artwork...

Fantastic illustration work guys - we love it! (the wine tastes great too:)

Ellis Patents, based in North Yorkshire specialise in the design and manufacture of cable cleats. With over 50 years of innovation and testing behind them, Ellis are recognised as the world's leading supplier of safety critical cable cleats.

Ellis engaged Vivid to review their brand positioning within the global market place and make recommendations as to how we could change market perception and purchasing habits. Following internal and external research, Vivid formulated an approach that would really stand out and position Ellis as 'Holding Power'.

We created a bespoke font for Ellis, unique, precision manufactured and immensely strong. Uncompromosing design and quality shines through in the folds of the typography. The logo has integrity built in - creating an authentic 'Trust' marque.

The clarity and scalability of this logo marque are made possible due to it's bold lines, emphasised by a monochrome colour palette.

Vivid commissioned a series of bespoke illustrations to compliment the product naming strategy. The illustrations were used in the brochure and on exhibition graphic panels to deliver 'stand out' appeal.

A bespoke website has been built to engage end customers, contractors and electrical specifiers. The interface of the website features Vivid's unique Content Management System (CMS) which enables Ellis to update the website without the need for any technical knowledge.

The brand launch for Ellis has been a huge success in all markets - watch this space for further information on KPI's / ROI.

Vivid's MD, Gerry Arcari has just completed an endurance cycling challange to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

Setting out from Blackheath in London at 12pm on Friday 15th July, Gerry Arcari and three other business owners from Sheffield, set off to cycle the 240 miles to Brussels - in less than 24 hours!

The challenge was in aid of the British Heart Foundation and the team reaised well over £5,000 in sponsorship. The first leg across Kent was 90 miles and involved approx 5,000ft of ascent. Once safely on the continent (by ferry) the remaining 150 miles involved two night stages and three final daylight stages to arrive in the Grand Place of Brussels by 1pm local time. The team were delayed by an hour on the ferry but still managed to arrive with 30 minutes to spare.

From Left to Right: Paul Forster (High Access Solutions), Gerry Arcari (Vivid Creative), Nick Cotton (Digital Exchange) and David Baldwin (Structural Interiors)

The team were sponsored by Nonna's italian restaurant and bar which is home of La Squadra cycling club.

Mad as a hatter some would say, however the challenge of riding the 240 miles from London to Brussels in just 24 hours is one that I just couldn't resist!

My target is to raise £2,000 for the British Heart Foundation. A worthy cause I'm sure you will agree. Please help me reach my target by donating on line at Just Giving...

Thanks Gerry
